Ruth Ketty Kisuza

Ruth is a public health professional specializing in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) research, policy analysis and program implementation. She holds a Master’s degree in Reproductive and Sexual Health Research from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) and a Bachelor of Science in Cytotechnology from Makerere University.

She currently serves as a Research Analyst at Makerere University School of Public Health, where she supports an evaluation of SRHR interventions targeting Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) in Uganda. She is also leading a collaborative case study with Community Concerns Uganda Initiative and the Population Council, assessing how extreme rainfall events affect AGYW access to SRHR services in Eastern Uganda. She also consults for the LSHTM on the Healthy Wetlands for the Cranes and People of Rukiga, Uganda Project.

Ruth has led and contributed to various SRHR advocacy initiatives, including the Youth End Female Genital Mutilation project in Kapchorwa, Uganda, implemented  in collaboration with Reproductive Health Uganda, Youth Hub Africa and UNFPA. Ruth’s current research publications primarily explore socio-economic inequalities in access to reproductive cancer screening services in low- and middle-income countries.
